A prayer to the Archangels to answer three wishes

brenda Brenda Howell Tuesday, June 12th 2012.

This prayer should be said on a Thursday.

Items Needed:

Angelfood cake * - so named because of its pristine whiteness and ethereal lightness -- would be a most appropriate dessert on this feast. It could be frosted with white icing. If you cover the center of the cake with a piece of cardboard before frosting the cake, it will support a small figurine of an angel. * A bowl full of sugar can be used as a subsitut for Angelfood cake.

Three white candles - one for each of the Archangels whom the Church honors today - might be placed in candleholders around the cake. The prayer for each of the Archangels (below) could be said as each candle is lighted.

Place a slice of Angel Food Cake in a dish, surounded by three white candles (or sugar in a bowl inside and circled around the candles). Put the three candles in the highest place you have at home. Light the candles. When lit, say a prayer to each Archangel. Ask for three wishes to the angels St. Rafael, St. Michael, and St. Gabriel. St

Ask (3) Three Wishes:

1. St. Rafael – Business

2. St Michael – Love

3. St Gabriel – Something slightly impossible

Ask one wish for business, one wish for love, and one impossible wish. Send this prayer on the third day after you requested the wishes (by mailing it to another person, posting it to a usenet newsgroup, or announcing your thanks to the saints in a newspaper classified ad) and see what happens on the fourth day …

What does each Archangel represent?

Michael the archangel, whose name in Hebrew means "Who is like God?", is revered as the leader of the angelic army who will conquer Satan and his armies of demons, and is considered the defender of the Church. Michael is more often represented in art thank any other angelic being. He is often shown wearing armor, in the act of slaying the great Dragon of the Apocalypse [Satan] in Revelation 12:7-9.

The archangel Raphael, whose name means medic or ointment of God, is mentioned by name in the Old Testament book of Tobit (Tobias), whom the angel aided by healing him of blindness and guiding him on his travels.

The archangel Gabriel, whose name in Hebrew means "Strength of God", announced the birth of John the Baptist to Zachariah, and soon after, announced to Mary that she was to become the mother of Our Lord. His address to her, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee" (the "angelic salutation") is familiar to all who say the Rosary.

Prayers for each of the Archangels:

Prayers to St. Raphael, the Archangel, Patron of Travelers

Prayer for Healing

Glorious Archangel St. Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journey by land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners.

I beg you, assist me in all my needs and in all the sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the "medicine of God" I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of my soul and the ills that afflict my body. I especially ask of you the favor (here mention your special intention), and the great grace of purity to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer Before a Trip

Dear St. Raphael, your lovely name means "God heals." The Lord sent you to young Tobias to guide him throughout a long journey. Upon his return you taught him how to cure his father's blindness. How natural, therefore, for Christians to pray for your powerful help for safe travel and a happy return. This is what we ask for ourselves as well as for all who are far from home. Amen.

Prayer to St. Raphael, Angel of Happy Meetings O Raphael, lead us towards those we are waiting for, those who are???waiting for us! Raphael, Angel of Happy Meetings, lead us by the hand???towards those we are looking for!  May all our movements, all their???movements, be guided by your Light and transfigured by your joy.??????Angel guide of Tobias, lay the request we now address to you at the feet???of Him on whose unveiled Face you are privileged to gaze.  Lonely and???tired, crushed by the separations and sorrows of earth, we feel the need???of calling to you and of pleading for the protection of your wings, so???that we may not be as strangers in the Province of Joy, all ignorant of???the concerns of our country.??????Remember the weak, you who are strong--you whose home lies beyond the???region of thunder, in a land that is always peaceful, always serene, and???bright with the resplendent glory of God.???Amen.

Prayer to St. Raphael: Patron of Travelers & Bearers of the Good News

St. Raphael, archangel, you protected young Tobiah as he journeyed to a distant land. Protect all travelers and most especially those who go about near and far preaching the Gospel. Guide and inspire modern apostles who use the communications media to bring the Good News of Christ to many souls. You also brought healing and joy to all you met. Help those who bring the Word of God to souls, that they may be as instruments in God's Hands to draw many to lives of Christian holiness. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael:

Saint Michael, Archangel, defend us in battle.???Be our protection against the wickedness ???and snares of the Devil.???May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;???And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, ???by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world ???seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

  • Pope Leo XIII

Oración a San Miguel

Amen.

Saint Gabriel

Blessed Saint Gabriel, Archangel???We beseech thee to intercede for us at the throne of divine mercy: ???As thou didst announce to Mary the mystery of the Incarnation, ???so through thy prayers may we receive strength of faith and???courage of spirit, and thus find favor with God and redemption through Christ Our Lord. ???May we sing the praise of God our Savior with the angels and saints in heaven ???forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer To Saint Gabriel

Glorious Prince of the Court of Heaven and most excellent Saint Gabriel, first minister of God, friend of Jesus Christ, and favored by the Holy Mother, Defender of the church and lawyer of man. You favor our devotions and help me to love and serve you. Grant me what I desire and ask for with this prayer, for the honor, glory and fulfillment of my soul.

Amen.

Saint Gabriel Prayer

Saint Gabriel the Archangel, I venerate you as the Angel of the Incarnation, because God specially appointed you to bear the messages concerning the God-Man to Daniel, Zechariah, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Give me a very tender and devoted love for the Incarnate Word and his Blessed Mother more like your own.

I venerate you also as the "Strength from God" because you are the giver of God's strength, consoler and comforter chosen to strengthen God's faithful and teach them important truths. I ask for the grace of a special power of the will to strive for holiness of life. Steady my resolutions; renew my courage; comfort and console me in the problems, trials and sufferings of daily living, as you consoled our Savior in his agony and Mary in her sorrows and Joseph in his trials.

I put my confidence in you. Saint Gabriel I ask you especially for this favor: (mention your request). Through your earnest love for the Son of God made man and for his Blessed Mother I beg of you, intercede for me that my request may be granted, if it be God's holy will.

Pray for us, Saint Gabriel the Archangel, that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.
