Tension in the air. Venus in Capricorn gets serious, and perhaps even demanding, as she aligns with Pluto and Saturn. Love, relationships, finances, and personal value systems may undergo an overhaul of sorts as Pluto and Saturn unearth what's hidden, expose what's “broken” and/or demand for reparations.

New Year's Eve features by the second full moon of the month, referred to as a Blue Moon, which happens to also be an eclipse. This rare combination adds depth and intensity; its effects can reaching up to six months! In addition to its rarity, this Eclipsed Blue Moon is further strengthened by its placement in its home sign, Cancer. As we bid the old goodbye and welcome the new year, it is what or who are closest to our hearts that are celebrated. Cancer represents family (biological or otherwise), our private self, our home life, and coming to terms with the past/memories in order to be happy in the present and move forward to the future. This eclipse is linked to July's eclipse and events/issues now may be reminiscent to this past summer.

Then a retrograde-Mercury gets testy with retrograde-Mars, where our words may be spoken in haste and actions driven by aggression instead of logic or reason. January itself begins quietly with a void of course Cancer-Moon from 10:43 a.m. until 9:41 p.m. when she enters courageous Leo. The Moon remains in Leo until late in the evening on Sunday. It's a welcome change of mood and pace after a strenuous start of the week.

Happy New Year, everyone!! Cheers to a prosperous and joyous 2010!

ARIES ~ This week may highlight on the relationships between work, finances, and personal life – balancing obligations to others and obligations to the self. The Cancer-Blue Moon creates strain in the home/family life, as it may demand more of your time, which you feel like you need to dedicate to work and material security right now. Saturn insists there is a balance. Perhaps, be reminded of what truly motivates you to succeed professionally. Is it family/loved ones? Or your need to advance in your profession? Or escape from what you're not ready to face?

TAURUS ~ Thoughts create reality. This has been a lesson you've had to learn in 2009. Future goals and professional life have gone through a transformation this year as the Triple Conjunction rocked your career and goals house. Taureans find comfort when their five senses are satisfied; tangible proof and taking a risk on a sure thing. This year, however, you've had to exercise the power of thought and procure a little faith as you were thrust into the unknown. Your ruler, Venus, linking to Pluto and Saturn plus the Eclipsed Cancer-Full Moon continue urging you to expand your mind and accept that there is also truth and logic with the intangible.

GEMINI ~ Money, money, money, money! The sky this week centers on material security and shared resources. There is a renewal in sight. Perhaps a change in your source of income or some creative projects through a business partnership. Keep in mind Mars and Mercury are currently retrograde so, finalizing or actually making movements until their retrograde period is over (Mars direct in March). It may sound too long but use this time to establish foundation, develop steps, and solidify plans. Pay attention to the details. That should keep you busy and prepared for when it's time to get a move on.

CANCER ~ The second eclipse in your sign this year. The end of the year may bring a conclusion, an answer, the culmination to something that may have begun or was brought out mid-year. These eclipses' focus is on the self – its drives, needs, desires, dreams, goals. Venus' links to Pluto and Saturn bring up issues/situations regarding your relationships to others and how that influences the decisions you make regarding the self. Putting another's needs before your own is kind and ideal, but the question is “at what cost?” At what cost, will you continue putting yourself and your goals aside for another? Perhaps, the Cancer-Solar Eclipse that occurred in July has helped you work out self-assertion this past months and this Blue Moon Eclipse reminds you of how far you've come and where to go from here.

LEO ~ With three planets in your house of work and health, you are urged to take a look at your lifestyle and whether it fosters overall healthy habits (i.e. having a good diet, balancing work and caring for the self, getting enough physical rest, keeping stress levels manageable, maintaining mental well being, etc.). The Eclipsed Cancer-Full Moon sheds light upon your subconscious. This eclipsed is linked to the July eclipses. What secrets have been revealed since July? Anything hidden brought to light? An untapped potential uncovered? Something suppressed now remembered? There's been a sort of “cleaning out the closet” happening for you on the psychological level. It's important, relevant. Continue the work.

VIRGO ~ Venus and Pluto combine energies in your house of love, creativity, and children, bringing depth and intensity to our relationships and creative efforts. Venus' link to Saturn shows the reality of our situations and the foundation with which these relationships are rooted in. The Eclipsed Cancer-Full Moon lights up our friendships and associations. Why not ring in the New Year with friends who are near and dear, as well as acquaintances? The New Year brings a new way for networking and socializing, which works ideally for self-employed Virgoans.

LIBRA ~ Your ruler, Venus, in Capricorn wants to establish or re-establish foundations as she merges with Pluto, who like to destroy what's no longer serving to benefit you. Her link to Saturn, who is currently in your sign, may be showing you how relationships/finances are flawed and what you can do, on a personal level, to correct it or release it. The Eclipsed Cancer-Full Moon illuminates your career and future goals house. Perhaps what Venus, Pluto, and Saturn are working out will be a part of your growth and personal goals for the next six months.

SCORPIO ~ Free your mind. Expand. Break whatever “ceilings” exists in your thinking. Venus' alignments with Pluto and Saturn coupled with the Eclipsed Cancer-Full Moon, you are urged to identify what deeply-rooted fears/concerns/psychological blockages there are and annihilate them. The relationship between what you hope to accomplish and what you actually accomplish is directly related to where your thoughts are rooted and what you entertain. “Energy flows where attention goes.” What is your attention on?

SAGITTARIUS ~ This week's celestial alignments bring focus to both your financial houses. The balance between your income and expenses, as well as the link between your personal finances and your shared resources, are up for analysis and renewal/overhaul. This is a process so, no need to feel it's something that must be done this week. The Cancer-Capricorn eclipses continue through to 2010 and money matters continue to get a work out. Listen to what Venus' links to Pluto and Saturn may be telling you this week about relationships and your personal value system.

CAPRICORN ~ The Sun, Venus, and Mercury continue to transit your sign, giving focus to the self and its drives. The Full Moon, however, casts a light on your relationships house, highlighting partnerships – marriage, committed relationship, or business partnership. This week is about balance between your needs/desires and your partner's. Finding the middle ground and satisfying both. Watch out for Mercury's tiff with Mars from Wednesday through Friday. Choose words wisely and avoid acting out hastily.

AQUARIUS ~ Venus' alignments to Pluto and Saturn plus the Eclipsed Cancer-Full Moon bring focus to the part of your life that governs your health (physical health and psychological well being) and service (what you do for others and whether you allow yourself the rest necessary to rejuvenate the self). Expect your work situation to also change in the new year, if it hasn't already. This change proves to be a blessing, however, there might be an interim phase when there is little income. So, save for a rainy day, just in case.

PISCES ~ Changes continue to happen within your friendships and associations. Venus now takes a look at your alliances to determine if they truly are friends or frenemies. The Eclipsed Cancer-Full Moon lights up your house of fun, pleasure, creative projects, and children. The Cancer-Solar Eclipse this past July may have begun a series of events or an inner excitement to connecting or re-connecting to the joys of creativity and nurturing one's inner child. If you have children, your relationship with them will continue to change and improve throughout the new year.
