WeeklyScopes ~ February 8 to 14, 2010

Break Away

It seems that the worst is behind us. Venus conjoins with Chiron and Neptune, giving us hope that whatever may be “broken” will not remain so. All that's needed is our commitment to the cause. Mid-week, Mercury enters the brainy, friendly sign of Aquarius after an extended stay in disciplined Capricorn. Our minds are free to roam and conversations are free to express without the Capricorn conservative restrictions, which is timely because Mars decides to get in a little disorderly conduct with jovial Jupiter. This causes for inhibitions lifting. In Leo, Mars, though retrograde, is up for some fun and spontaneity. Venus changes signs and enters Pisces on Thursday, giving matters of love a dreamy outlook; and in matters of finances, we're apt to give in and shop or be extra generous, especially to those less fortunate than ourselves.

The weekend kicks off on Friday with Mars making the same ruckus with Pluto. Unfortunately, Mars does not meet the same results with Pluto as he had with Jupiter a few days ago. Pluto is intense and in Capricorn, he is very structured. Elsewhere in the sky, Mercury and Saturn meet up. This combination of Mars-Pluto and Mercury-Saturn may cause us earthlings to delve deep in understanding why we do what we do, say what we say, and believe what we believe.

This is all very auspicious with the New Moon in Aquarius occurring on Saturday, challenging us to break away from the familiar that no longer benefits. How appropriate that on Valentine's Day weekend, a look at matters of the heart (and wallet) may be what needs restructuring, as Venus (relationships/finances/self-worth) is challenged by both Saturn (reality/restrictions) and Mars (action/motivation). Venus and Mars were linked in this same manner early in January last month. Perhaps events or issues then may resurface now with the New Moon shedding its light on them.

ARIES ~ There's much to celebrate, even you find yourself required to give up something or let go of a situation. Having done so just opens you up further for possibilities. The trick, however, is being able to recognize what's being offered, having the courage to accept it, and the resolve to see it through.

TAURUS ~ Time to see beyond that which has been “known” to you. Knowledge and intelligence are both great assets to have, but there is greater value in wisdom. Consider that there more to your situation now than what you know. Venture beyond your comfort zone. Be mindful and open to receive that piece of information you now seek.

GEMINI ~ You're positively floating on air. The possibilities are endless. You've conjured up brilliant ideas and better yet, you also have ideas on how to concretize them! Best to write them down as they may fleet as quickly as they arrived. Back on earth, some grown-up talk may be on the horizon. Responsibilities and obligations leave little to be desired but they are a part of life.

CANCER ~ Are you still holding on? Your grip is even tighter. The New Moon approaching this weekend empowers and challenges you to be brave enough and let go, release your grip. You are deserving of something more. The heavens are offering you something more fitting with your plans, with your desires, with your needs. However, you are first required to take a deep breath, muster up some courage, have faith, let go, and exhale. Will you do it?

LEO ~ Is there some serious passive-aggressiveness going on with you and with others? Are you even more surprised that you're not as annoyed with this behavior than you normally would be? Perhaps, giving others more latitude is preparing you for the New Moon in your opposite sign later in the week, when satisfying the balance between yourself and your relationships are in focus.

VIRGO ~ Some changes may occur within the work place. It's important for you to take the time to express your thoughts on these changes. Your two cents may not weigh enough to alter anything, but it is the act of self-expression that matters. The New Moon on Saturday is a good day to begin a healthier daily regimen, benefiting your physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.

LIBRA ~ There's been a shortage of fun for you lately. Even with your ruler, Venus, and the Sun in your fun house for some weeks now. What normally would be pleasurable has also been casting a heavy shadow that smells of obligations and commitments that restrict your freedoms. Sad to say this remains but there is more lighthearted fun interspersed between the obligatory days.

SCORPIO ~ Some things trigger past events/memories and, surprisingly, shed light on a situation you are now dealing with. Acceptance of these truths uncovered from the past may not be pleasant but they do give you ideas on how to move forward and nevermore find yourself under the same state of affairs.

SAGITTARIUS ~ Thank the heavens for blessings in disguise. It is, sometimes, unfortunate that one must muddle through a rough patch before realizing that the outcome of a situation has surprisingly resulted in something beneficial. This does, however, make one realize that perhaps there are energies behind the scenes working on one's behalf... hmm...

CAPRICORN ~ Giving up does not necessarily equal failure. An existing, frustrating situation lingers on. In your most reasonable state, you know that extracting yourself from the situation is the wisest course of action for you. You're afraid that it might be seen as a failure on your part. Rest assure that the only person whose opinion matter is your own. Release yourself and be free. Or continue on, as you have been, in a situation with no foreseeable end in sight.

AQUARIUS ~ The week begins with your ruler, Uranus, stimulating Mercury with brilliant thoughts and promising plans for the future. The week ends with the New Moon in your sign, offering renewals and the chance to initiate on projects or plans that have been brewing in your heart and mind. The heavens have extended you a helping hand. Grab it and run with it.

PISCES ~ That is indeed a big serving spoon full of hopefulness that you are feeling. No, the problems have not disappeared. Take the glimmer of optimism as your weapon of choice this week and be reminded that what fills our minds, help create our realities. So, think happy thoughts and have a little faith this week.
